Based on fieldwork in the Dominican Republic capital, Santo Domingo, I explore the different ways to refer and relate to the 1965’s Revolution, that defended the return of the 1963 Constitution. In the article I follow the celebration of the 54th anniversary of the Revolution in 2019 and the march of a group of “forgotten” combatants. The solemn walk of their commemoration offers an index of tracks and traces of histories of “anonymous heroes” as alter ways to talk about what meant the 1965 Revolution. My goal is to demonstrate how the mention to a revolution motivatede by returns allows the access to future past's nostalgias and melancholies.
