The article presents some results of the project entitled Territory and Memory of the Asurini Xingu. Collaborative Archaeology at T.I Koatinemo - Pará, Brazil. The project took place within a research that was designed in partnership with this indigenous people and aimed at understanding their territorial occupation history in the T.I Koatinemo, and at the same time identifying the archaeological potential of the lower-middle Xingu area. Throughout the text, I will highlight the fieldwork held in May 2013, when Asurini's ancient settlements and other archaeological sites along the Piranhaquara creek were located. This research falls under the debate on collaborative researches and addresses the effects of the encounter between archaeologists and indigenous peoples in terms of their different ways of experiencing archaeological recordDownloads
