Abstract

This article deals with the ethnic and interethnic dimension of the frontier in Mato Grosso from the second half of the XIX century till the beginning of the XX century. The analysis focus on the territory of the Bororo Indians, trying to understand how the tribal strategies relate to a national project of territorial and cultural frontier wherc the Salesian missionaries are one of their main agents
