This article presents some notes that aim to consider the challenges faced by anthropologists that do research in heritage. The brief narrative of two specific cases aims to point out obstacles in this anthropological line of work and to shed light on (1) the path to the reflection on the role of anthropologists and anthropology in the face of dilemmas and challenges, which are present in certain state agendas regarding heritage, and on (2) what kind of knowledge has been produced and how it has impacted issues of public interest.Downloads
