For tens of thousands of men and women from Latin America, mestizos and indígenas, young and not-so-young, indeed, crossing the international border into the United States in the twenty-first century still amounts to invading, individually and in small groups, a foreign territory. The border is long, and there are millions of compatriotas and familiares waiting on "the other side". For some, the border is merely an imaginary line that marks the boundary between two countries, but for the majority who attempt to cross the boundary,"the border" is just as dangerous as it might seem to some to be culturally transgressive.Downloads
