Abstract

This text aims to discuss the "space" filled by anthropological researches related to urban issues concerning the Amazon region. Considering the diverse themes connected to anthropological researches in the region, we seek to draw an specific aspect of the history of anthropological researches in the Amazon: the studies that focus the urban social realities. It is highlighted the performance of anthropologists from outside the region and their contribution to the development of native anthropologists related to researches in urban context.
