This article is based on the assumption that there is no reason to imagine that the mechanisms “against the State”, that were uncovered by Pierre Clastres in Amerindian societies, had their existence limited to that “type” of society. In that direction, the following text intends to isolate some of the principles, themes and central guidelines of Clastres’s work. This effort is also reinforced by my own experiences doing researches about African- Brazilian religions and politics, as well as in investigations on the history of anthropological thought.Downloads
