Abstract

This work is a reflection on a monthly event called Salta’sCultural April promoted by a nonprofit association denominated Pro CulturaSalta. The analysis aims to understand how an “idea” from a group of friendsbecame a cultural policy conducted by the State in the nineties in the city ofSalta. By focusing in the transformations of Cultural April in that historicaland social moment we can comprehend how culture becomes a performanceand how the State is made by that performance. To understand those transformationsit is important to pay attention to what to organize means andwhat kind of governance is in the making through that organization.
