Abstract

The article discusses how the Amazonian caboclos are represented by ethnography, history, literature and common sense, noting how, in these diverse discoursive corpora, structuring the narrative pattern that the Amazon society uses when referring to them. Social category of representation or ideal type producted by the Amazon history, the cabloco would be an anti-identity, or rather a paradoxical identity, a denied identity. An issue that has meaning only in the symbolic violence that establishes them as a social subject.
