Arguing for the recognition of Michel de Certeau's contribution to contemporary Anthropology, this article suggests affinities between Certeau’s theory of practice and some thoughts by Michael Herzfeld and Tim Ingold, also proposing a personal account of the importance of Certeau's ideas to the author’s own research work.
