In this work we try to situate the relations between the anthropology of the senses and the sensory ethnography, observing the dissonances, assonances and resonances present in their theoretical and methodological scopes. We present some contemporary perspectives and sources of this relationship, notably the reflections proposed from Geertz's interpretive anthropology (1989), those of the authors of the “Santa Fé Seminar” (1984), of the anthropology of the senses proposed by Howes; Synnott; Classen, (1994) and Laplantine's modal anthropology (2017). Our discussion is also anchored in the contribution of Ingold (2000; 1008; 2011; 2012) and Pink (2006; 2008; 2011; 2017). In this way, through the synthesis that these authors make of the debate about the reflective nature of ethnography.
