Abstract

The principal motivating factor in the development of this study was the following worrying issue: what drives individuals to enter Brazilian jungles, rivers and oceans because of their careers? This study aims to shed light on the possibility of investigating how people management can influence the organizational commitment within organizational structures operating in various remote regions of Brazil. This is an invitation extended to researchers wishing to explore innovative organizational facilities in secluded regions, distant from urban areas in Brazil. The main assumption, regarding organizations, is that such research may contribute to the understanding of what could otherwise promote or hinder talent retention in such facilities. Where regions are concerned, it is reasonable to believe in the possibility that these facilities contribute to the development of regions in which they are inserted. It is suggested that there exists the possibility of investigating how people management influences organizational commitment in these facilities operating in several regions of Brazil. Similarly, therein lies the opportunity for a cultural alteration, where employees’ commitment is stimulated, if power is consensual, where values are set flexibly, allowing for an integration between the organization principles and the values present in each context in question.
