Political networks in the spatial circuit of wood production in Paraná

Abstract

The globalization process creates new forms and new contents to the spaces, especially to the elements related to technological changes (information flows) in the reproduction of capital. In view of these new forms and contents, we have listed the dynamics of the theory of spatial circuits of production. From these elements we seek as objective to understand the spatial circuit of wood production, focusing on the relationship of the political-economic elements of this process exposed by the dynamics of political networks, in the territorial configuration in Paraná. For this, we use the theoretical-methodological base of networks to identify the circles of cooperation and point out the determining elements to define the power of decision and location of the actors. We consider this way, from a specific methodology of political networks, where we seek to analyze and trace, the profile of the actors present in the spatial circuit of wood production and their respective relationships, which in this case are understood from the political and economic point of view. We have used, in this way, the elements available from the application of a questionnaire with ten surveyed actors and a whole network of data about the sector. We consider, therefore, that elements such as circularity, present in the dynamics of the circuits and evidenced by the political-economic relations of the circles of cooperation, are exposed in the configuration of a political network endowed with power.
