Abstract

This paperwork discusses the prospects for cross-integration of the principles and practices of environmental education and economic solidarity actions in literacy of adult fishermen from the propositions of the program Fishing Letters. Initially refers to general issues of artisanal fisheries in Brazil based on review of the literature on the subject. Then lists the principles and practices of environmental education and social economy in the context of fishing, concluding that the pedagogical praxis rooted in environmental education and social economy can contribute significantly to the sustainable local development of the fishing communities
