ABSTRACT The purpose of this work was to determine the activities in which the nurses of the Hospital Infection Control Committee (HICC) in the hospitals of the City of São Paulo are involved and to identify the conditions favoreable and unfavoreable to their adequate performance. This study is justified by the fact that the nurse's work in the HICC is directly responsible for the obtaining of reliable rates of hospital infection as well as for their control and reduction.Downloads
