Abstract

The purpose of this study was to analyze the sense of the supervision work in a project for the professionalization of mid-level workers. In the theoretical and methodological framework of the historical and dialectical materialism, supervision was taken as an instrument of the work process, described in interview with the projects' supervisor (12) and coordinating (7) nurses. Their speeches were submitted to qualitative analysis and presented in thematic phrases. The investigation re-vealed, in particular, a supervision still based on old-fashioned modes of control.
