Abstract

Rouanet’s works played a leading role in the founding period of Brazilian philosophy of psychoanalysis, although his contribution by no means ended there. His works published in the 1980s were pioneers in opening up avenues of dialogue between psychoanalysis and many philosophical traditions, such as the Frankfurt School or the Enlightenment, and with the history of philosophy as a whole. The aim of this paper is to make a preliminary analysis of Rouanet’s contribution to this process, identifying his main thematic axes and assessing his impact and influence.
