We cannot in any way attribute the crisis the electrical sector is going through only to the lack of rain; or solely impute the rising electricity tariffs to the need for granting permits for building thermoelectric power plants. The electrical sector is currently in a topsy-turvy state; in which its players, namely state-owned energy generation companies have stopped selling their energy, and are speculating and liquidating in the shortterm market. The reason for implementing costly thermoelectric plants when an option could have been made for low-cost thermoelectric plants is the reason why costs of energy transmission have risen. Tariff skyrocketing has been followed by a risk of rationing; and many industries are making their productive activity impossible, and many electrical power players are making a lot of money.Downloads
