Abstract

This text proposes a reflection on some aspects of the contemporary editions of seventeenth century texts. From the publication of the books elaborated by profs. João Adolfo Hansen and Marcello Moreira, the demand for philological acuity and the exercise of historicity in the treatment of texts written in the seventeenth century, especially those that circulated in the manuscript, are approached. This text, therefore, focuses on issues concerning the edition of poetry, referring to aspects of the domain of the history of the book and written culture, the historiography of national literature, rhetoric and poetics, facing the synchronic cutaway that the processes of continuity and discontinuity print models and poetic imitations.
