Abstract

The te x t discusses the historical specificities of the South Atlantic area based on three periods since the arrival of Pedro Álvares Cabral in 1500, passing through the opening of the Suez Canal (1869), until the end of the apartheid in South Africa (1991-1994), events that support the reemergence of south-south bonds in the Atlantic Ocean. Thus, this article explores the cultural dimension of South Atlantic connections, although it focuses primarily on the construction of the space-temporal concept.
