The paper analyzes the impact of the covid-19 pandemic on the individual and societal value priorities of Brazilians. We also analyze, based on the Big Five Theory, how individual differences in terms of personality play an important role in how people deal with change. The results indicate that the pandemic situation did not cause substantial changes in the emancipatory values of Brazilians. Furthermore, it appears that support for such values is mainly determined by the individual resources such as education and income, but it is also impacted by aspects related to personality traits.
