Wine has been part of our culture sincethe earliest historical records. It is associated with mythology; and it was centralto shaping the Mediterranean lifestyle. Inmedieval times, European monasteries contributedto the quality of wine by enhancing techniques, organizing wine cellars, andearning economic returns. In the sixteenth century, when Europeans ventured into the New World, their religion and their winestravelled along with them. As it was cleanerand safer to drink than water, wine became part of the routine, both as a thirst-quencherand as an important element of tradition.Back then, the wine world took the shapeas we know today. Techniques of cultivation,manufacturing, transportation and commercialization were then perfected.Besides the relaxing effects of alcohol, winecontinues to fascinate as it is related to a diversityof cultures, celebrations and peoples.Downloads
