Abstract

This article analyzes issues related to the Brazilian football stadiums between the 1950 and the 2014 World Cups in Brazil. It focus on the technological changes and demands from the audience taking place in that period; and addresses the current need to pay heed to a diverse range of factors when building new stadiums, such as the technological development, environmental sustainability, the capacity to hold multiple events, physical and property security, among others.
