The article discusses the policy of ongoing qualification for teachers of the public education system implemented by the Education Department of the State of Sao Paulo, especially in the period from 1984 to 1994. The text emphasizes, however, in the context of related policies, the Agreement established between the State Governments office and the public universities, in its last stage of implementation, from 1992 to 1994.Downloads
