Effect of infra-red irradiation of commercial ration on broiler chicks performance

64 day-old SHAVER-Starbro broiier chicks were randomly assigned to 2 groups and fed a commercial ration (control) and a commercial diet that was subjected to infra-red irradiation for 30 minutes. Feed consumption and body weight were recorded weekly. Birds from irradiated group consumed 6514.3 g less food than the control group. Chicks fed the normal diet showed body weight 445.4 g higher than the irradiated group.
