Nursing formation and the drugs phenomenon in the state of Rio de Janeiro - Brazil: attitudes and beliefs

The present study consisted of identifying the attitudes and faiths in relation to the phenomenon of the drugs, of students registered in graduation courses in Nursing of Public University of Rio de Janeiro (Brazil). The intention went characterize it I prepare academic and the attitudes and faiths consolidated during the male nurse professional formation. It is a descriptive investigation, whose sample belonged to 122 students of the last academic period of four courses of nursing. The used instrument of collection of data was a questionnaire (it climbs) applicable. The data were collected between September of 2003 and February of 2004. The project traveled all the necessary procedures its execution (evaluation of the committee of ethics of the State University of Rio of January, authorization of the participant institutions and Term of Free and Illustrious Consent signed by the students). The results evidenced the fragility existence in the specific theoretical knowledge (alcohol and drugs) obtained by the students, as well as the maintenance of attitudes and faiths not so positive in relation to the user, what can interfere in the future nursing attention.Downloads
