The goal of this study is to discuss the main visitar impact management system in protected areas. The demand for recreational activities in natural areas with unique characteristics has increased in the last years and the manager's challenge is how to reduce the impacts of public use. The personnel scarcity, the lack of specific literature, research and diffusion of the results about this issue, restrain the application of these systems in Brazil. Therefore, is essential to promote a wide discussion about positive and negative aspects of each system, emphasizing recent researches and specialist board recommendation.Downloads
