This study intends to identify the main factors that made possible the hotels' complex growth in the Great ABC region and especially in the city of Santo André, as well as to analyze the relationship between the public management and the private sector and its influences on the investment decision made by specific hotel chains. We argue that relevant strategies adopted for an innovative political leadership in Santo André, that had the outcome of four new hotels established in its restructured central area, and strongly increased the perspective of business-oriented growth for the tourism activity in the region.Downloads
