Wine Tourism Development in the Vale do São Francisco: a growing segment

The region of the Vale do São Francisco is gaining more attention in the eyes of the nation as a new option of enoturism. The activity grows around the world as a new interesting activityto the regions winemakers give valor to their products and to diversify the income at the sametime that it involves other sections of the region, sharing the benefits of their business.Through interviews and a big research of secundary data, the main objective of this job wasto describe how this process is evolving in the northwest semi-arid. It is verified as principal evidence of the growth of enoturism in the Vale do São Francisco the increased involvement of wine-companies of the region with the objective, the strong investment of public power infavor of the segment and the recent diversification of the touristic products offered. The goodresults that the enoturism has been showing in the region is the because of the work, of the agents involved, and the contrast of landscapes activity promoted by the insertion of irrigatedhorticulture, and should be interpreted as a tool of social and economic transformation.Downloads
