Tourism, corresponding to the organized and commercial investigation, claims for the production of equipments and collective services, this way contributing for the production and transformation of the city. By these means, the tourism politics configures itself as an urban political form, in which the State intervenes with the adoption of politics that conciliate thepreocupation on tourism with the urbano. ln this sense, this article describes briefly the historical of the urban-touristic plans, emphasizing the Brazilian experience in the area and broaching the tourism politics of the Northeast, placing this region in the national context, under an historical perspective.
