Abstract

How hisloric and artistic values are' constructed for mobilisation of Brazilian tourits? Only a little part of the turism has in art and history his first motivation. The researcher role is to investigate how the values and images are built and fixed at the tourist mind. We can observe that the attention is directed and reinforced to a single artist, to the detriment of lhe others. The
comparison of two different that lived in São Paulo city -Thebas- and Vila Rica -Aleijadinho-, in the XVIlI century, arises the question: How and why some names were appropriated for the tourism industry. It is a process of affirmation and negation in lhe Brazilian tourist reality.
