"Monumenta" is a Brazilian (Federal) Government Program that aims to preserve historical centers of 27 Brazilian cities, as it has already happened with Pelourinho, in Salvador, BA. The Program is based on 4 coordinates: sustainability, visibility, attractiveness and accessibility. Because it is directly involved with tourism, it is urgent that all professionals and institutions involved with the area should engage in a wider conversation. Especially if the goal is a tourism that deals with social responsibility. This paper describes the Program Porto Alegre/RS version.Downloads
