Education, in Brazil, has been going through changes which might not be effective due to the little clarity of the terms used in the new guidelines. That indicates the need to investigate what is happening in relation to graduation in courses of Tourism, because the professionals will intervene in a determined field from what they have learned during the courses. Thisresearch consists of an examination of the syllabuses of four university courses of Tourism. The disciplines were gathered in categories of formation according to characteristics observed in the names of these disciplines. The results were: an organization of the curriculum from the characteristics found in the names of the disciplines which reveled the focus on subjects with various degrees of depths and comprehensiveness, what indicates the development of socially less meaningful and limited learning; the indication of different categories of learning, based on criteria defined by the kind of actuation to be developed and not by the kind of information to be presented.
