This paper reports a journey of recognition to the Athos Mouth peninsula, Greece, where a monastic  community of the Orthodox Church is located. It analyzes the geography, history and culture of this monastic enclave, the procedures to arrive at the site, the conduct demanded from foreign visitors and the prohibitions in effect. Athos
Mount is the largest Christian Orthodox community preserved in the world and tourism to this region is restricted and visitors are required pilgrimage behavior. For these characteristics, it is one of the most interesting destinies for those who are tired of mass tourism.
