An oncological diagnosis can have important consequences on the lives of elderly people, especially on their occupations. This study aimed to identify the approach to the occupations of elderly people in the context of oncological palliative care. A scope review of publications in PUBMED, BVS and SCIELO, between 2018 and 2023, was carried out by reading the title, abstract and keywords and, when necessary, reading the text. The selection used some inclusion criteria. Duplicate works and those published in the years prior to the established search period were not considered. The search found 1,202 articles, of which 667 were unique. After screening, 07 articles remained in this research. The most researched occupation was the activity of daily living and the most used assessment instrument was the Barthel Scale. Only 02 articles reported on the subjective aspects of the occupation, but did not detail its peculiarities. And 04 articles proposed to report occupational therapy interventions in this context, but in a more generic way. Considering the diversity of occupations and their meanings, studies are needed that are dedicated to researching the occupations of elderly people and in PC palliative oncology care and that consider the subjective dimensions that permeate occupation.
