This paper discusses the most common conceptions among the occupational therapists about the use of activities as a therapeutic aid. The belief in the intrinsic therapeutic proprieties ofthe activities, by itself, is discussed as wçll as its laboriatorial use, as a moment for doing fisics exercices, for learning standarts of motricity, behavior, social and professional habits and for emocional experience. The psicodinamic view add the inconscients emocional factors in the analisy of the activities and in the relationship between therapist-patient-activity. In both cases the patienfs concret condictions oflife and action do not enter in the occupationaltherapistspecific intervention.
