Abstract

This paper is aimed at discussing new alternatives to the crisis in open mental institutions, which would involve the creation of new forms of relationship. Through the report of a scene observed at the Núcleo de Atenção Psicossocial da Vila Belmiro, (NAPS IV, Vila Belmiro) which is part of the Programa de Saúde Mental de Santos, São Paulo, we were able to disclose the multiple actions that took place in the process of reconstructing a patienfs focusing on the team movements, characterized by flexibility, availability and intervention in the area. Finally, we questioned the doubts and the challenges that were part of this process as being inherent to the current controversial discussion on the new object of psychiatry, within the deinstitutionalization process, as a way of complex reconstruction.
