The ordinary life of a disabled person who has finished a rehabilitation process is the object of this article. We attempted to identify the effects of the institucional model of rehabilitation proceeding in the quotidian actions and social relationship of people that had already experienced them sometime ago. Within the rehabilitation centers we collected data about the proceeding adopted in relation to people who had experienced the treatment, and specially to the people who were subjects ofthe research. AIso with this subjects were made intensive interviews. We could verified that, although there were many focused rehabilitation actions, only those that acquired a particular meaning in the context of ordinary life were up-to-date. We could also verifle that in the ordinary life of a disabled person, are present not only manifestations of autonomous life conduction, but also alienation, wich seems to be more connected to the rehabilitation. We have considered that, the intervention which realy intend to create autonomy has to make a option in order to break completely ali the actions to control the ordinary life.
