Abstract

The psychiatric institution in Brasil consolidates in the beginning of the century. characterized by the project of medicalization of the institutions destined to the lunaties" reclusion and for the proposilion of creation of new institutions that look as model the European and north American's Experiences of the open-door. In São Paulo, with Franco da Rocha and the creation of Juqueri, we have the example of the acme of that process. Through texts of the time we cut out the aspects thal characterize the project of institutional order, to base in the premises of the moral treatment and adapted to one moment where the psychiatry atready al Tirmed lhe incurasee condition of the mental diseases and it proposed the work as central strategy for the incurable ones and for to solemnily sufficiency of the institution.
