Abstract

This work is a research which shows a progression of losses resulting from na insidious psychiatric chain, which begins when individual is taken to a mental institution - this being the iniciation of a reference ofsegregation and stigmatization from society. The social representation built in the public imaginary imposes a break of commnication between the patient and the rest ofsociety which excludes and confines him. The consequence of ali this is the transformation of the individual in nothin, the social destruction ofhis existence. He loses the right to life, freedom, the reconstruction of this social and affective relationship and even his own identity and self-image. Ali this is supported by a legislation which condemns and excludes the deviationist.
