Activities in group: a choice for social inclusion in the old age

This article is designed to contribute to the work of professionals who are concerned with helping sênior citizens so that the latter can adjust to their new condition and better deal with their own limitations and possibilities by keeping themselves active and exercising the rights oftheir citizenship. Having as a parameter the city of São Paulo, in which the authors have been developing their work, our focus will be on the importance of the activities performed by Old Age Groups in large cities. The starting point ofthis discussion consists ofthe observations and reflections on the history evolution ofthe sênior citizen groups as well as the considerations taken from the experience with different kinds of activities that are performed by Old Age Groups at both private and public Institutions.
