Occupational performance of adolescents from a psychosocial care center of childhood and adolescence

Adolescence comprises the age group from 12 to 18 years old and is characterized by notable physiological, anatomical, psychological and social changes. Adolescents who suffer from
mental disorders have some losses that can affect various aspects of life and result in diffi culty or impossibility in the occupational performance. This study aimed to analyze the occupational performance of adolescents who attend to one Psychosocial Care Center of Childhood and Adolescence and is characterized as an exploratory descriptive study of qualitative approach. The data was collected through the Canadian Occupational Performance Measure among 14 adolescents in treatment at the CAPSi of Uberaba - MG. The results revealed the main problems of occupational performance indicated by adolescents, related to the thematic categories: self-care, productivity and leisure. Personal and environmental factors of the adolescents have more influence in the occupational performance than the disease diagnosed.
