Abstract

Thiswork was used ofthe classic massage and ofthe functional passive mobilization, accomplished in the diagonal and in spiral, in agreement with the method of Neuromuscular Proprioceptive Facilitation. In the clinicai practice, we have been observing positive results when of the use of the two techniques. Thus, the objective of this work is to study the effect of the isolated session of the massage, of the mobilization and of the association ofthose two therapeutic resources in the flexibility. Were subject of this study, 24 health young men and women, divided in three groups: A, B, C, composed of 8 individuais. The group A received only the classic massage; Bjust received the functional mobilization and the group C received a session ofassociated classic massage and functional mobilizations. Previously the session was measured the global flexibilities of the subjects through the tests of right and left previous flexão, right lateral inclination: were measured the distance of the fist to the ground and the indexes of Stibor and Shober. The same happened soon after the end ofeach intervention. Those measured obtained in the pré and post-test were analyzed graphically and by statist method. We found with this study that the three interventions had positive influence conceming flexibility and that the intervention massage and mobilization obtained a more significant improvement in flexibility.
