Abstract

The aim of this study was identify lhe mosl common reasons of complaining oíTnemory disorders in 60 year age and over people. without neurological impairment. Forty patients subdivided into two groups in accordance with lhe scholar levei, were studied. Tem two-hours sessions, once a week were carried out. The sessions was adapled irom lhe method used by WILSON and MOFFAT10, at the Memory Therapy Group of East Dorset. The results show a significant improvement of bolh groups related to after and before of the training carried out. The causes of this improvement are, among olhers, lhe use and concious of the memory and lhe improvement oflhe atlention. The results of this study show lhe efficacy of the cognitive stimulalion in lhe third age. Conclusions: this kind of memory training group should be indicated as those groups for social and physical stimulalion, poinling out its imporlance as lherapeulic and prevenlive ways in this period of life.
