Resumo

Este ensaio explora o modo pelo qual a persistência de formas literárias na história foi abordada pela tradição russa da Poética Histórica (Aleksandr Veselóvski, Viktor Jirmúnski, Mikhail Bakhtin, Formalismo Russo) e dentro de certa vertente do marxismo ocidental (Georg Lukács, Walter Benjamin, Fredric Jameson). A discussão é, em parte, descritiva e, em parte, programática: trata-se de uma reconstrução que não pertente fazer totalmente justiça a nenhum desses pensadores em particular, mas que busca delinear um campo, cujas várias inflexões produzem perspectivas e pontos de ênfase complementares. O foco é na problemática central do paradigma: uma tentativa de construir uma história universal das formas literárias em sua relação com as condições sociais – e modo – de sua produção com base em certo entendimento da vitalidade do passado e da mobilidade no presente.
