In the first part of Marina Tsvetaeva’s essay “Epos and Lyrics in contemporary Russia - Vladimir Mayakovsky and Boris Pasternak” the poet explains why she puts side by side the names of the two poets. According to her personal concept of poetry she juxtaposes and exemplifies both poets’ characteristics and works. (Part II will be published in the next issue (n. 16) of RUS.)
