This paper investigates quantifying binominal constructions in Russian, specified by lexemes kutcha (heap) and more (sea). It adopts Construction Grammar as a theoretical basis, which propose a network approach to the analysis of linguistic phenomena. As a methodological procedure, a qualitative analysis of real language use data, considering 18th to 21st centuries, extracted from Russian National Corpus. Results of this analysis confirm the hypothesis that the construction specified with kutcha seems to be older than that with more, and it seems to be more routinized in the network of quantifying binominal constructions of Russian. In addition, the results suggest that, differently from kutcha, which seems to be the unmarked element on the binominal quantifying constructions network, more seems to have a specific semantic profile.
