Abstract

The present work aims to contextualize the work of the culture and literature scholar, Russian philosopher and critic Yuri Lotman, starting with his education at the University of Leningrad and concluding by his activity as professor of Russian literature at the University of Tartu and the creator of the semiotics of culture.

  • Ekaterina Vólkova Américo, Universidade Estatal de Ciências Humanas de Moscou
    Tradutora e pesquisadora, formada em História, Literatura e Cultura Russa e Espanhola pela Universidade Estatal de Ciências Humanas de Moscou. Possui mestrado e doutorado pela Universidade de São Paulo, FFLCH, em Literatura e Cultura Russa. O artigo aqui apresentado é parte integrante da tese de doutorado intitulada Alguns Aspectos da Semiótica da Cultura de Iúri Lotman (FFLCH/USP, São Paulo: 2012), financiado pela Capes.
