Nursing actions in primary care to prevent suicide

The objectives in this study were to describe the primary health care nurses’ potential to prevent suicide and discuss the work process focused on prevention. An exploratory and descriptive study with a qualitative approach was undertaken, involving nurses from the Family Health Strategy. The content analysis technique was used to treat the data. The results revealed that the actions to prevent suicide in primary health care need to be included in the nurses’ work process.
