Signs of suicide risk in women with a history of domestic violence

Objective: To identify risk signs for suicide in women with a history of domestic violence. Method: An exploratory-descriptive study with a qualitative approach Participated ten women with a history of domestic violence and attempted suicide by poisoning. The research was carried out at the Center for the Study and Prevention of Suicide, linked to a Toxicological Information Center, in Salvador, Bahia, Brazil. Results: It indicates the relationship between the experience of domestic violence and the commitment to mental health, represented by: Depressive behavior and Suicidal behavior. Conclusions: The study revealed behaviors that consist of warning signs for the risk of suicide, while providing subsidies for the promotion of care strategies for women with a history of domestic violence.
